The Diocese of Lafayette joyfully announces and invites you to the Ordination to the Holy Priesthood of Reverend Mr. John Paul Frugé. Deacon Frugé will be ordained by Bishop Douglas Deshotel on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette.
Deacon John Paul Frugé was raised in Welsh, Louisiana, and is an alumnus of Notre Dame High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University, followed by a Master of Philosophy and a Master of Divinity in Theology from Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. He is sponsored by the Community of Jesus Crucified in St. Martinville. Deacon John Paul is the son of John and Elizabeth Frugé.
His first Mass will be held on Sunday, June 15th, with Vespers scheduled for 5 PM, followed by the Mass at St. Martin de Tours in St. Martinville.
