Hurdlow 'Novice' Evening Ride

Approximately 3.5 miles, this short circular walk and trot route incorporates a section of the High Peak Trail, bridleway and country lanes. Setting out off-road affords novice horses a chance to settle in. Manageable challenges along the way include the potential to meet cyclists and walkers on the trail. Livestock may be viewed from a safe distance, and low speed traffic provides an introduction to road riding. With a pub well placed on the return, a drinks stop can be made.

Worth noting:

There is a section of road riding on a small country lane.

The trail is hardcore surfaced and can be stony in places.

Livestock may be present alongside the route.

Cyclists and walkers with dogs or buggies may be encountered along the way.

The route passes a kennel which often contains lively, barking dogs.

Parking is pay and display with maximum charges for horse transports of £7 for all day.

Group size limited to 6+guide. All riders must have their own BHS gold or equivalent public liability insurance. Under 18s are welcome but on a first visit must be accompanied on the ride by an adult.

Payment of £38.50 per person secures your place on the ride. Please use the 'find tickets' button to book or message the page for more info.
