Picnic and Craft: Pine Needle Basket Making

Join us for a relaxing, hands-on afternoon of creativity and connection as we gather under the open sky (weather permitting) to learn the beautiful art of pine needle basket making. This timeless craft has deep roots in Indigenous traditions, where baskets were skillfully woven for both functional use and ceremonial purposes, honoring a sacred relationship with the land.

Bring your lunch and feel free to bring a little something to share with the group if you’re inspired. We’ll enjoy a slow-paced, picnic-style gathering where you’ll learn how to create your very own pine needle basket using materials provided. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and a love for handmade beauty!

In case of rain or adverse weather, we’ll cozy up indoors and keep the creative spirit flowing.

This is a donation-based class with a suggested contribution of $50 to help cover material costs. All are welcome—no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Payments need to be made in advance to reserve your spot via Venmo (@Maya-Ittah) or Cash app ($MayaIttah).

Event capped at 12 ppl.

Come craft, share stories, and leave with a beautiful handmade creation and a deeper appreciation for the wisdom of the natural world!
