New York International Salsa Congress Presents
The 14th Annual Old Skool Room
“Preservando La Tradición”
A Matinee Dance Event Honoring the Marriage of Live Music and Salsa Dancing in New York City

Now in its 14th year, the Old Skool Room (OSR) stands as a tribute to the roots of Salsa—celebrating the vibrant legacy of New York, Puerto Rican, and Cuban dance and Latin music traditions.

Created to preserve the cultural richness and flavor of old-skool social dancing, the OSR offers a unique Sunday matinee experience that blends live music with authentic dancing in the heart of NYC. Year after year, dancers are treated to carefully curated sets by the legendary DJ Andy “El Más Bailable” (PR/NY), known for spinning with the perfect tempo, swing, and sabor.

This year’s featured live performance will be by Cubano Rican, a powerhouse band known for igniting dance floors with the rich fusion of Cuban and Puerto Rican rhythms—continuing the tradition of delivering high-caliber, danceable music by some of New York’s finest.

Whether you’re old-skool or new-skool, a social dancer or a seasoned salsero, we invite you to celebrate tradition, community, and pure joy on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in the Astor Ballroom at the New York Marriott Marquis.

Come dance with us. Come preserve the tradition.
