Rusty Pickups -The down home classic country-folk sound of South East Queensland’s Rusty Pickups is always a crowd favourite. With splashes of river boat keys, home on the range piano accordion, melodic banjo, rolling bass, and the charm of the acoustic guitar marrying with warm classic story telling and vocals, expect tales of family, murder ballads, and the desperation of lost love, but with a familiarity that makes the first show feel like the fifth, and the fans feel like family.
Front man Will Gardiner created the band in 2014 and debuted with the release of hit single ‘My Scars’. The video received over 20,000 views on YouTube. The band then followed-up with the release of singles ‘San Francisco’ and ‘Phillies’. Both singles received commercial radio play and skyrocketed the band into the Australian and New Zealand music scenes. From touring Australia & New Zealand in a campervan & playing every venue possible.
Famous Will have put down the hard yards from the beginning which has led to some staggering opportunities such as supporting acts by the likes of Thirsty Merc, Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon), Glenn Shorrock, Wendy Matthews, Ross Wilson, James Reyne & many more.Get ready for their next chapter as they settle into Northern Rivers.
