Over a decade ago, the Claptomaniacs formed on the Sunshine Coast to play tribute to the guitar legend, Eric Clapton, and they keep coming back to their roots, often at the request of hard-core Clapton fans. This is a multimodal concert event at the beautiful Majestic Theatre in Pomona and is particularly aimed at rewarding the loyalty of those die-hard fans. The program presents Clapton's music from 1968 in the Yardbirds, blues collaborations with the likes of John Mayall, the supergroup Cream and onwards through his solo career and multiple collaborations, with classics like Layla, Tears in Heaven, Change the World, I Shot the Sheriff and many more, supported by a colourful slide presentation that provides context and back-story for the songs. If you ever wondered 'What's all the fuss about Clapton?', here's your chance to find out.
