Afriquoi is an underground sensation, merging Congolese guitar, Gambian kora virtuosity, and UK electronic sensibilities to create an uplifting fusion of African music and live electronics. Formed in 2011 out of London’s cultural melting pot, the 5-piece band is known for its masterful live performances that blend Mandinka percussion, house, garage, disco, soul, and jungle to create something entirely unique. With each member being a band leader in their own right, Afriquoi brings together decades of musical knowledge and life experience from musicians hailing from Africa, the Caribbean, and the UK.
Their infectious energy has captivated global audiences, performing at major stages such as Glastonbury, WOMAD, Dimensions, Fusion, Boomtown, and even the London 2012 Olympics. Known for their afro house anthem "Kudaushe," Afriquoi’s signature sound continues to draw fans from both African and electronic music communities. Their debut album Kolaba (2015) and subsequent releases have cemented their place as one of the most exciting live acts in the UK. The band’s fusion of influences creates dancefloor-friendly music for a new generation.
