Get ready to slide into the world of curling at our "Science of the Slide" Camp! This hands-on experience will take you on an icy adventure where science and sport collide! Join us as we explore with the Wausau Curling Club how curling ice is made, from the pebbling process to maintaining the perfect conditions for play.
Discover the physics behind how curling stones glide and curl and learn how sweeping makes all the difference in the game. But that’s not all! Kids will dive into action with tabletop curling activities. Kids will learn how to 3D print mini curling stones, and together we’ll create our very own curling sheet using synthetic ice. Teams will compete in a mini curling game, putting their new skills to the test!
Whether you’re a budding scientist or a future curling champion, this camp promises fun, teamwork, and a whole lot of sliding! Pre-registration is required. Spaces are limited, so be sure to register early to secure your spot!
