“This Is War” is Pete Ross & The Sapphire’s first recording in more than five years and reflects on the state of the world, asking: “Is this how it's meant to be?

“In these tumultuous times, it’s essential to channel our emotions into something meaningful,” says Pete Ross. `’We hope this song will inspire listeners to think about the world we live in and the role we play in shaping it"

Pete Ross & The Sapphire recently relocated to Sydney after a decade in Europe and have taken a new approach to their music, incorporating a more roots, rocking feel. The addition of new band members, guitarist Matt Allison (Spurs For Jesus) and drummer Lisa Mosse has brought a fresh energy to the group.

The band have recently played supports to legendary artists such as Charlie Owen and The Johnnys and are fast building a reputation for their swampy and dark country blues sets.

“A class band with a terrific batch of songs and brilliant players, with songs recalling Gram Parsons and The Band. This band is a hidden secret playing around Sydney at the moment” Edwin Garland www.i94bar.com

Looch Lewis was the long-time drummer for iconic Sydney bush/punk outfit Handsome Young Strangers and in 2017 he surprised everyone (including himself!) by impulsively embarking on a solo career.

Since then, he's gone from strength to strength with his band The Press Gangsters and has issued a debut EP, "Whiskey Helps The Sun Go Down", on local label Stanley Records.
