Nature's Potpourri Summer Field Trip Series #3: Ceresco Prairie

Join Winnebago Audubon for our Nature's Potpourri Field Trips, held one per month, in June, July and August. Led by Anita Carpenter, the focus is to discover whatever nature presents including birds, flowers, trees, insects, and more. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy walking shoes. The walks will be slow paced and may be one mile or so long on mowed trails. Sunscreen and bug repellent might be in order
#3 Ceresco Prairie Conservancy
Saturday, August 9: 9:00-11:00
This area is a 130 acre restored native prairie, oak savanna, and wetland habitat. Started in 1997, this restoration project is a partnership between Ripon College and Wisconsin DNR.
Directions from Oshkosh: take State Road 44 to Ripon. At the 4-way stop sign at Eureka St., continue straight going west on Oshkosh St. to the stoplights at State Road 23 (Fond du Lac St). Continue straight (south) on to Union Street. Turn right onto Merriman Lane/Congress St. Follow this road until you enter a parking lot that is behind the Ripon College Willmore Center. The entrance to the prairie will be on your right.
