Larches is a project of Jacob Cona, a musician from Athens, GA raised on Elephant 6, R.E.M., and the B-52βs. Cona moved to Seattle in search of greener musical pastures in 2019, where they began work as an audio engineer at local venues. In 2022, Cona emerged from a bedroom-turned-home-studio with debut album, "Attack of the Telephones," which documents a hallucinogenic landscape of isolation, loneliness, and hope, inhabited by painted corpses, cowering gods, and friends transformed into telephones. In 2023, Larches developed into a live act, playing in and around Seattle with support from Robby Fox, Adrian Franco, and Jacob Conley. What was originally started as a band to perform βAttack of the Telephones,β Larches has turned into a collaborative creative endeavor. Larches will be releasing a self-titled EP in summer 2025, leading up to their first full length album as a band in early 2026. Their recorded material is inspired by the works of Built to Spill and Sparklehorse and aims to capture the energy found playing live together up and down the Pacific Northwest.
