Author Visit & Writing Workshop: The Power Of Story

Join us for this unique and engaging evening as we explore the power of storytelling. Local author Laurie Riedman will read from her recently published memoir, Diamonds in the Dirt: Stories from a Junk Yard Girl, and share the profound impact of sharing her story. She will lead us in a few exercises that allow us all to explore the power of a story, a rare opportunity to learn from a published author. As a book and library lover, you may know firsthand the power of story. Stories engage us in our hearts, souls, and minds. A well-told story grabs us, transports us, and sometimes puts us smack dab in the middle of it. Whether it is nonfiction, memoir, biography, or autobiography, essay, poetry, creative, historical, or romance fiction, stories are how we process the world around us and engage with our inner and outer world.
This event is an adult workshop. Light refreshments will be served. No previous writing experience is required. Advanced Registration required; space is limited.
