Get to know the beach from an artist's perspective! During this 2-day workshop we will cover a variety of subject matter, beginning with a simple seascape before moving on to lifeguard stands, umbrellas, beach towels and cabanas. By the end of day two, you'll be rendering bathers lounging in the hot sun!
And, while enjoying the scenery, students will be learning and practicing important skills in drawing and watercolor painting including composition, use of line, value, perspective and color. The workshop takes students from drawing to a finished watercolors in a step-by-step method while encouraging individual expression along the way.

Workshop Goals:
Understand and practice basic drawing and composition
Learn to interpret, rather than copy a photographic source
Explore the foundations of watercolor painting
Render a simple figure
Learn to use value and color contrast for dramatic effect
