Shawnn Monteiro
Shawnn Monteiro is a Rhode Island-based jazz vocalist and percussionist. Daughter of renowned bassist Jimmy Woode, Shawnn's career began in the early 1970s, when she was discovered by Afro/Cuban jazz pioneer Mongo Santamaria — she joined his band and then launched a solo career and began touring internationally. She has recorded seven albums and toured all over the world, even performing in Siberia. A 2024 Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame inductee, Shawnn is also a dedicated and beloved music educator, teaching master classes in voice in Italy since 1995 and as an adjunct professor at Rhode Island College and the University of Hartford.
Cape Cod Jazz Trio
Cape Cod Jazz Trio (CCJT) is comprised of three of Cape Cod’s top jazz musicians: Fred Boyle on piano from South Yarmouth, Ron Ormsby on bass from Centerville, and Bart Weisman on drums from Orleans. The CCJT has accompanied vocalists Dane Vannatter, Siobhan Magnus, Cassandre McKinley, Tish Adams, Leslie Boyle, Lori Colombo, and Krisanthi Pappas. Since 2009, the CCJT has appeared at concerts, events, and restaurants across Cape Cod, including the Provincetown Jazz Festival, and off-Cape in Providence (RI), Nantucket, Plymouth, and Boston.
