1-Day Course in the Prior’s Hall of Wenlock Abbey, Much Wenlock

The course runs from 9:45am – 5pm and includes all the materials you will need, tea/coffee and a light lunch. You can either be a complete novice or have some experience of tapestry. You’ll be given your own mini loom to take home.
Cost: £130
Maximum 8 participants.
In the ancient setting of the Great Hall at Wenlock Abbey, learn how to create a small piece of tapestry, using time-honoured techniques. You will learn the difference between embroidery and tapestry and you will be given your own small loom, which you can take home at the end of the day. You can also discover a little of the history of this ancient house, including the restoration programme carried out under the ownership of Louis de Wet, and gain inspiration from some of the early tapestries he collected.
