NNAS Tutor Course

The National Navigation Award Scheme established the NNAS Tutor Award in order to ensure that anyone wanting to become a NNAS provider had been equipped with the necessary tools to teach navigation, and also to allow anybody with an interest in navigation to teach it in a sequential manner that is also fun and engaging.

It is essential to attend a Tutor Award if you want to deliver NNAS courses. However, if you just want to gain practical ideas about how to make the teaching of navigation both modern and fun then this will be a good course to attend.

This is a one-day course with a morning of indoor exercises before heading out to look at some outdoor exercises as well as walk round an established Bronze training route. This enables participants to see the where, what, how and why in context!

The course is therefore a mixture of indoor and outdoor practical sessions and offers the opportunity for participants to discuss their own methodology, experience as well as learning new techniques from others. The idea is to share ideas and get involved!

We can provide compasses (though it will be assumed you have your own) and we will provide maps for the day.

The NNAS Tutor Award is suitable for people 16yrs+ only.
