Advanced Prison Doula Training and Certification

The Ostara Initiative is offering an Advanced Prison Doula Training and Certification from July 16-18th in Minneapolis, MN. The training will teach, mentor, and certify experienced birth workers who are already working with justice-impacted and marginalized populations. The training will focus on creating culturally congruent teams, centering lived experience, and tracing the history of systemic oppression. It will also cover topics such as trauma, addiction, mental health, nutrition, and lactation within carceral settings. The goal is to empower pregnant and parenting people involved in the criminal justice system.
