Joe Cirotti and friends are back for an afternoon of Gypsy Jazz. Characterized by a swinging rhythm, improvisation, and virtuosity, originating with nomadic Gypsy guitarists in Western Europe in the 1920s, these fine musicians have brought a new appreciation for this remarkable genre. With Dani Fischetti on the violin and vocals, Pete Lister on bass and vocals, Mike Alexander on the Mando caster and vocals, and Joe Cirotti bringing the percussive strumming style called "la pompe" that emphasizes beats two and four and the fast-paced improvisations he is known for, we are in for a treat.
Schiff’s Music in the Woods concert series is held in a large outdoor Amphitheatre setting that requires guests to arrive by 3:30 pm to allow for the 30-minute walk up on uneven terrain to the venue. Guests may BYOB, snacks, and pillows for your comfort. Seating capacity and parking are limited, so carpooling is suggested. Advance ticket purchases are required. Current Member fee is $20. Schiff membership and MITW ticket bundle pricing is $65. Non- member fee is $25. Ticket proceeds directly to support the musicians and Schiff. Outdoor events occur shy of rain or thunderstorms. Refunds will be processed automatically in the event of cancellation.
