Chapel with Chaplain Fran

Fran Schubert is the Chaplain at Macquarie Correctional Centre Wellington and we are honoured that she has accepted our invitation to come and along to Real Hope and share some testimonies, stories and some inspiration from her role in the custodial setting of a gaol.
Fran is considered a friend of Pastor Colin and swap Bible verses and encouraging quotes regularly.
It takes a special person to do what Fran does and her grace and care she affords everyone she meets is beautiful and inspiring.
Fran is certainly one of the Lord’s special servants. 🙏🏼

Governor of the Macquarie Correctional Centre in Wellington, Brad Peebles, echoed the thoughts of many of the area’s prison inmates and staff, telling The Catholic Weekly that its chaplain is “the soul of the centre”.

“Fran personally, and the chaplaincy service in general, is an essential part of the toolkit in managing behaviour in custody and in effecting change in people who are often broken and feel rejected by the community,” Mr Peebles said.

“It’s essential that people during the process of change, have a non-judgemental person who cares about them and accepts them as human beings.”

A special evening not to be missed.

This could be the start of something wonderful. 🙏🏼

Fellowship supper afterwards.
