The Covered Bridge Jams summer concert series returns for its 11th year, bringing live music to Covered Bridge Park nearly every Saturday night from June through the end of August. Presented by the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department, 8/30 will showcase Dimestore Cowboys.
The Dimestore Cowboys are a six-piece Appalachian alt/country rock band. Hailing from Johnson City, TN, the band originally formed in 2012 and has had several stellar lineups through the years influenced by bands like Drive-By Truckers, Sturgill Simpson, and Dwight Yoakam, their unique style fuses powerful vocals with hard-driving instrumentation, creating a traditional country sound with a not-so-traditional attitude. Fans praise the band for their soulful lyrics, centered around the struggles of living in the rural South and the ever-present pain of heartbreak, as well as their dynamic musicianship. The Dimestore Cowboys have performed over 300 shows, released 4 albums including their latest, Let's Try This Again, and show no signs of slowing down.
Bring along a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy an evening of free live music. Performances will begin at 7 PM. Food trucks serving this event include: Tin Can Diner, Good Karma Kettle Corn, Sideshow Station Concessions, and Smashed Tri-Cities, or stop by Covered Bridge Creamery across the street for some Ice Cream!
