A while back we lost a great member. Kalso was a great guy and a ton of fun to volunteer with. He was a super volunteer, working with a bunch of organizations. It is sad that he won't be there in a physical sense, but he did like working at this place in particular, so we will honor him with his favorite beverages and food.
Heads up! We will be mowing and cleaning up Ford Park in Highland Park this Wednesday. This is a park we visit fairly often as there are a lot of kids that play there. There is no trash service at the stadium, so there is always a lot of litter to be picked up and grass to be mowed. There is a dumpster in the parking lot though, so that makes our work easier.
We are going to try to keep weeds from further growing through the track surface and we'll clean up all around the football field.
I hope you can join us. Here is how to attend a Mower Gang event:
1. Show up. There is no real, set start time. We just show up after work and get to it.
2. Do something you think you'd like or the park could use. If you brought any tools, great. If not, try to find Tom and see if he can lend you something. Either way, we usually start the evening by getting stuff done first.
3. When people start to gather around food or beverages, or whatever, join them. Conversations are usually quite light, focusing on cars, lawn equipment, work, and silly stuff found on the internet.
We usually go home before it is dark. I hope to meet you there.
