B GROUP HIKE: MT. KEARSARGE [2937’]

Join us for a scenic hike up Mount Kearsarge with breathtaking 360-degree views from the summit! This peak is featured on the NH Fifty Finest and 52 with a View lists, and on clear days, you can see the skyscrapers of Boston, 80 miles away, from the firetower at the top!

Details:
• Time: Meet at 11:00 AM
• Distance: 2.8 miles with 1,100 feet of elevation gain
• Route: Winslow Trail up, Barlow Trail down (loop hike)
• Difficulty: Moderate pace, with a couple of stops per hour to refuel, adjust layers, and enjoy the scenery
• Parking: Available at Winslow State Park at the end of Kearsarge Mountain Rd., Wilmot (Entrance fee required)

Directions: From NH 11 in Wilmot, take Kearsarge Valley Rd. south. Turn left on Kearsarge Mountain Rd. after 1.5 miles, then turn right at 1.6 miles (sign for Winslow State Park). Continue 0.7 miles to the trailhead and parking area.

What to Bring:
• Sturdy hiking shoes/boots
• Water, snacks, lunch
• Layered clothing suitable for spring weather (windbreaker/raingear recommended)
• Bug repellent & sunscreen
• A sense of adventure!
