Anthony Weitz's 'Chasing the Light - Malta en plein air' collection captures the vibrant essence of Malta through the artist's expressive plein air oil paintings. Working directly on-site, Weitz immerses himself in the island's dynamic coastal and urban landscapes, translating fleeting light effects and atmospheric conditions into vivid compositions. His works showcase his adeptness at conveying the interplay of sunlight and shadow, the textures of ancient stone, and the tranquil rhythms of the Mediterranean. With a bold, impressionistic approach, Weitz distills each scene into a moment of visual poetry, inviting viewers to experience Malta's beauty as he does—immediately and intimately.
Although managed by Christine X Art Gallery, the exhibition will take place in central Valletta at the newly established 1926 La Galerie (another boutique hotel establishment of the 1926 brand) on Old Theatre Street (just opposite the Manuel Theatre and will remain open until 31st July 2025.
