After the success of our last stargazing event, Grazing and Gazing is back at Balgownie in July!
Join us for an unforgettable evening of fine food and stargazing at Balgownie Estate, in collaboration with the Astronomical Society of Victoria (ASV).
The night begins with a shared dining feast on long communal tables, offering a selection of seasonal dishes to enjoy at a leisurely pace. As you dine, volunteers from the ASV will provide a presentation about the celestial wonders you’ll be viewing later in the evening.
After dinner, you’ll be guided through the night sky, with telescopes set up by ASV members to offer a closer look at a range of celestial sights. From Sombrero Galaxy to Carinae Nebula and Rosette Nebula, and even galaxies beyond our own, this unique blend of visual observing and live stacking will give you a chance to experience the cosmos in a way that few have.
*We recommend wearing comfortable, closed-toe shoes as you will be walking on our front lawn to get to the perfect viewing point.
