Explore the captivating exhibition "From where I'm standing...," where artist Daniel Norwood revisits the profound experience of observing and recording the natural world. Inspired by a day spent in the serene grounds of Pyne's House in Devon in 1995, Norwood's work delves into the quiet revelations found in the landscape.

In “From where I’m standing…,” Norwood reconnects with the Hampshire river banks, applying the same meticulous approach: one roll of film, hourly observations, and a fixed vantage point. Through this process, he captures the essence of the river’s ever-changing nature, echoing Heraclitus’ wisdom: “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it is not the same river and he is not the same man.”

Each piece in the exhibition represents a day’s observation, enriched by detailed note-taking, adding layers of personal reflection and wonder. “From where I’m standing…” invites viewers to immerse themselves in the tranquillity and beauty of the landscape, offering a unique perspective on the passage of time and the artist’s evolving relationship with nature.
