Visit Luzerne County has announced that the 7th annual Rockin’ the River summer concert series will return in July of 2025. The series, which takes place at the Millennium Circle at River Common in Wilkes-Barre, began in 2019 and has become one of Luzerne County’s most popular summer events, with crowds ranging from 3,000 to nearly 6,000. This year’s lineup is as follows:
• July 11 – ZOSO: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience. With opening act, Flaxy Morgan.
• July 19 – Maybe I’m Amazed: A Tribute To Paul McCartney. With opening act, Tori V. and The Karma
• July 25 – Low Cut Connie. With opening act, Aaron Fink & The Fury
Low Cut Connie is an American rock and roll band based in Philadelphia fronted by pianist and songwriter Adam Weiner. Beginning as an impromptu recording session in 2010, Low Cut Connie gradually evolved into a vehicle for Weiner's songwriting and onstage persona. The band has earned praise for its high-energy live performances, which Los Angeles Weekly described as "unmatched in all of rock right now." NPR Music described Weiner as "masterfully fluent in the foundational languages of Western pop." Low Cut Connie has also gained notoriety for attracting high-profile endorsements such as a surprise inclusion on Barack Obama's Spotify Summer Playlist in 2015, and a personal association with Elton John, who has called the band one of his favorites. Other notable fans are Bruce Springsteen and Howard Stern.
The Rockin’ the River shows are free and all-ages. Gates open at 5 p.m. and music runs from 6-9 p.m. There will be food vendors and beverages from the Susquehanna Brewing Company and Bank & Vine. The shows are presented by Visit Luzerne County and the Riverfront Parks Committee. Major sponsors are Geisinger, Lewith & Freeman, DiscoverNEPA , Mountain Productions, PSC (Petroleum Service Company), and the City of Wilkes-Barre.
