Columbia Heights Music in the Park Sponsored by Northeast Bank: Northeast Community Band

Now in its 27th year, the Northeast Community Band is under the direction of its founder, Tim Martin. The all-volunteer, non-audition band has helped adults regain their love for music and playing their instrument. Many of them play with other community bands, community orchestras or at their churches, and a number of them are music teachers. The band rehearses on Thursday nights at Edison High School during the school year. Each year, the band awards a scholarship to an Edison senior to encourage them to continue their musical journey. When he isn’t rehearsing NECB or teaching music at Minneapolis Washburn High School, Tim can be found gigging around town with groups such as the Belfast Cowboys.

The Big Red Wagon food truck will be on-site for this event.
