Native Plants - Collecting and Storing Seed, with Basil Conlin

Basil Conlin of Haliburton Micromeadows, is a lifelong naturalist with a passion for sharing his love of nature with others. He grew up in Peterborough amongst tallgrass prairie and oak savannah remnants, went to Trent Univ to study Conservation Biology, and worked as a naturalist in Algonquin Park. In 2024 he opened his plant nursery in Minden, with the goal of making sustainable landscaping more accessible to gardeners in an effort to do his part in preventing new invasive species from spreading.
Basil will be speaking to us specifically on collecting and storing native plant seeds, but I'm sure he'll be happy to also make recommendations for plants suitable for your particular site conditions.
Hope you can join us! Basil will have a few plants on hand, available for purchase.
Lion's Hall at #35 & Grandy in Coboconk. Doors open at 6:30 for refreshments, and the presentation begins at 7:00.
