Join us this October half term for a festive Pottery Gingerbread House workshop.
In this fun hands-on session, you’ll be guided by ceramicist Helen McCormick as you learn how to build and decorate your very own charming gingerbread house using traditional hand building techniques.
Whether you’re new to pottery or have some experience, this workshop is designed to help you tap into your creativity and bring your unique gingerbread house to life. Helen will lead you step-by-step through the process of shaping the clay, and adding delightful details like windows, doors, and festive embellishments. You’ll also have the opportunity to decorate your house with intricate textures, creating a piece that will make the perfect holiday decoration.
All materials and equipment will be provided. The workshop is suitable for those aged 12+ and under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult. If you are accompanying a young person and want to join in yourself, please purchase your own ticket as well. Please also bring an apron or wear old clothes, and if possible, trim any long nails to help with the clay work.
After the workshop, your gingerbread house will be carefully fired in Helen’s kiln and returned to you, ready to add a festive touch to your home in time for Christmas. Your completed gingerbread house will be available for collection approximately 6 weeks after the workshop, and we’ll notify you of the collection date and time.
