Get ready for a heart-pumping, rip-roaring ride through the stunning desert terrain of the Maricopa Trail 🌵, starting in Cave Creek and finishing at Lake Pleasant 🌊.
The details: Featuring a 36 mile point to point course, the Prickly Pedal starts in Cave Creek and rides up through town to Spur Cross where you’ll join the Maricopa Trail all the way over to the finish line at Lake Pleasant Regional Park. Aggressive ascents and descents, grinding it out on the flats, rocks, water, sand, mud, and roller coaster runs are all part of the fun of this challenging course!
Stay for the post race party on the shores of Lake Pleasant with all proceeds from race registration going right back into the marvelous, Maricopa Trail.
The "sprint" race is a 15 mile point to point challenge that finishes at Lake Pleasant, too! It cuts out the tougher and technical first half through Cave Creek. The "Sprint" starts with a flat and fast section before dropping you into the canyons that surround Lake Pleasant and your ultimate finish line party at 10 Lane Boat Ramp at Lake Pleasant. 🥳
