Free Motion Sewing & Block Printing workshop
Suitable for those that already have a basic knowledge of sewing on a sewing machine. Bring your own machine and free motion foot or borrow one of ours. Please bring your own basic sewing kit scissors etc. all other materials will be provided.
We will be experimenting with block printing and then you can choose your favourite blocks to create a fabric picture on a piece of linen/cotton fabric in the morning. We will be letting it dry over lunch and then we will using free motion embroidery to outline the stitching. Don’t worry if you have not done free motion before this will be demonstrated and practised before you work on your piece. It is great fun and is highly addictive! Free motion embroidery is drawing with stitching on your sewing machine. Towards the end you may want to include some hand embroidery which can also be demonstrated to add extra detail to your fabric picture. All materials included.
Your fabric picture could be framed or made into a cushion panel.
