Darlington Heights Fire Dept. 9/11 Memorial Walk/Run

Join members of the Darlington Heights Fire Department during our 2nd annual walk/run honoring the memories of the FDNY firefighters who lost their lives in the collapse of the World Trade Centers on 9/11/01 . We will be leaving our firehouse and walking up Singleton rd to Bethpeor Church . This distance is 3.5 miles which is the distance ran by FDNY firefighter Steven Stiller when he became stuck in traffic trying to respond to the Twin Towers and later died in the collapse .The event supports the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which helps first responders and military families in times of need . We will accept donations and forward them to T2T.org or feel free to donate directly to them . Donation not required to participate in walk . First responders are encouraged to wear their gear during walk (but not required) . Friends and family encouraged to walk along with us . Back then we said “We Will Never Forget” , this is one way those of us in rural Virginia can keep that promise .
