7PM The Up & Up - All for one and one for funk! This Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina band has been spending time in the studio cooking up some new material to follow their latest single “Once In A While.” Expect a funky mix of original music and eclectic covers to get our annual Johnnie Johnson Festival going.
8:30PM The Deep Fried Five - Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, the approach of the Deep Fried 5 is to bring back the retro sounds of 60's soul and 70's funk, while incorporating a fusion of high energy grooves and climactic jams to keep your heart pumpin & body movin'! A mix of bumpin' bass lines, staccato wah pedal rhythm guitar, sultry synth & organ lines, pocket drums, & golden, soulful vocals with an over the top, belting lead guitar, these dudes have a high energy of groove & they jam to the max to keep your heart pumpin & body movin'!
