Relief Carving 101 provides students with the basic skills & understanding of how to approach, design, and complete a relief carving.
Relief Carving- A mostly 2 dimensional carving that is exposed when the background is dropped away from the design. Relief carvings are done as simple wall art, or to add any number of feelings to furniture, architectural millwork, boats, guns etc.
Students will go through the steps of transferring a design to wood, dropping the background, and carving the design to satisfaction.
This two day class provides all tools & materials for one relief carving kit.
Saturday & Sunday, July 12 & 13, 10am – 3pm
*Design pictured is for example purposes only, in-class designs may differ as students will be working on introductory projects
