Yule Log Course

Two Sundays in December, the 7th and the 14th at 2pm

The Yule log tradition involves burning a large log in a fireplace, often starting on Christmas Eve and continuing for the twelve days of Christmas. The practice has roots in Northern European cultures and is linked to both Christian and pagan traditions, symbolizing warmth, light, and the promise of brighter days. Some traditions suggest the log should be burned for the entire duration of the 12 Days of Christmas, and in some cultures, ashes were collected and kept as a token of good fortune. The type of wood used for the Yule log varies by region, with oak being common in England and birch in Scotland.

During this course, you’ll be using various elements to design and create your Yule Log, we will go over the tradition of the various candles that you can light during the days of Yule and the holidays and then on the last day you will be burning your log.
