How The Open Mic Runs At Slamchester.
Sign-up is on the night. If you'd like to read, just pop your name in the hat at the venue.
Please note: a spot is not guaranteed, as names will be drawn at random on stage.
The open mic starts after the second round of the slam, while scores are being calculated (approx. 9:30pm start).
It will run until 9:50pm or until scoring is complete, whichever is later.
Each poet gets one poem only.
This helps us get as many voices on stage as possible.
No hard time limit, but we recommend pieces between 1 and 3 minutes to give everyone a fair chance to share their work.
No intros or preambles, please.
Just state your name and the title of your piece, then jump right in.
