Chris Ricketts: Sea Shanty & Folk Singer

Internationally acclaimed 21st century shanty singer, Chris Ricketts of the UK has appeared at top folk and shanty festivals in Germany, Poland, Canada and France. Chris mastered his craft working cruise ships after being a semi-finalist in the BBC Radio 2 young folk awards. Now a touring musician and teacher in secondary schools Chris’ passion for performing allows him to travel the world with his self-penned songs and versions of traditional shanties. With quick-witted comedy, a unique delivery of sea songs and clever songwriting, Ricketts’ live show never fails to satisfy an audience.
Chris has teamed up with Annapolis Royal’s own Ray Balcom and Maurice LeClair, rising stars in the East Coast Sea Shanty scene. Their group Livin’ The Dream have played all over the east this year with even bigger events in 2025. Their high energy filled and comedic banter is extremely entertaining.
