"And now, the end is near...and so I face the final curtain."

Due to declining membership here in California (we're down to 2.5 registered members), I have decided, as long-time Chapter Director of the Orange County Spirit Riders, to end our charter with Women On Wheels® at the end of 2025.

Although it is the end of an era here as we are the last remaining chapter in both California and the entire West Coast of the United States, I am proud to say that I did my best and held out until the absolute last moment. I endured countless events of no-shows and solo "group" rides. I continued to find joy and relevance in a sport I love when everyone else had walked away.

We will become a forgettable memory soon, but I refuse to go out with a whimper. We are going to stuff our faces with delicious food and reminisce about the memories we've made in the 22 years we've been a chapter of Women On Wheels®.

To the mysterious 130(?) followers on our group, I'll probably never meet any of you and I'm pretty sure that you're all bots but if you want to join us for dinner, we'll be here.

If you've never had shabu shabu before, it is probably the most equitable type of dining I can think of, because it doesn't matter your dining preferences. There's something for everyone, just like how I wanted to run this chapter. And we're doing this in Orange County, in honor of our origins here.

I'm still going to be on my motorcycle. Nothing will change in that aspect. I just get to take my talents and my experience elsewhere.
