Bikepacking: Coon Fork Overnighter
Advertisement
It's time for one of our favorite trips: the Cook Fork Overnighter! We'll meet at the Coon Fork Campground parking lot, then ride the backcountry "roads" to a dispersed campsite along the South Fork Eau Claire River. We'll stay there overnight, maybe ford the river to AKA Lakeside for a beer, then ride back to the cars the next day. The rough sketch of the route can be found here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49430877
For the trip, you'll need:
- Your bike
- Tires wide enough to ride confidently in sand (there's a fair amount of it in one section, so think 2.4" or wider)
- Shelter/sleeping gear
- Food (be prepared to sustain yourself if needed, and bringing a stove is recommended)
- A change of cloths for July weather
- $5 admission
- A positive attitude
If you wanna join this or any of our events, please fill out one of these forms: https://www.winnebagobicycle.com/about/group-ride-events-waiver-pg231.htm
As always, reach out if you would like to inquire about our gear library, including shelters, cookware, bike bags, and more!
