Norman Pace, half of the famous comedy duo Hale and Pace, will be hosting a glittering concert by the Ember Big Band.
It tells the story of the Rat Pack – Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford – a legendary brotherhood of tuxedoed, loveable rogues who took Las Vegas, and the rest of the world, by storm. The show contains some of the greatest songs ever written including “Mack the Knife”, “My Funny Valentine”, “The Birth of the Blues”, “Mister Bojangles” , “The Lady is a Tramp” and “Luck Be a Lady Tonight”. Norman, now a successful actor and musical theatre star (with “Chicago” and “Little Shop of Horrors” and “Hairspray” under his belt) will be performing alongside Ember Big Band`s three resident vocalists, Georgia Dobson, Dan Lynes and Camille Robertson Cole. The show will be conducted by Allan Rogers – Musical Director of the “Strictly Come Dancing” arena tours. Allan said: “It`s a treat working with a great twenty piece band – and The Ember Band are a really talented bunch. This show is a `must` for lovers of the Great American Song Book.”
Norman Pace said “Having been part of a comedy TV partnership like Hale and Pace it`s going to feel strange hosting a show without Gareth Hale by my side! But singing those Rat Pack hits with a 20 piece band is an amazing experience – especially as the show is supporting Princess Alice Hospice which provides end of life care for patients, and support for their families, for as long as is needed. Its services are absolutely free – but the need for those services rises year on year.”
