Step back in time with the classic music of the 1940s and 1950s Big Band era on Saturday, July 12, at the Warrenton-Fauquier Airport. Come dress in your best vintage attire and enjoy a performance with the 18-piece Silver Tones Swing Band and their Andrews Sisters vocal trio, the Silver Belles. The band and solo vocalists Gene Bates and Wendy Marie will recreate the music of Big Band greats from the day, including Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Bobby Darin, and others. The Silver Belles will perform Andrews Sisters classics like Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Rum and Coca-Cola, Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree, and more! The backdrop for the concert and dance-floor will include vintage aircraft, including a TBM-3 Avenger, a BT-13 Radial Engine Trainer, an L-5 Sentinel, a UC-61 Fairchild Forwarder, a Stearman Bi-Plane, a Piper Cub, and other WWII Vintage aircraft. Admission to this dance is free. Refreshments will be available by donation. ** The dance space for this event is inside the terminal, air-conditioned, and on a smooth concrete floor. The aircraft will be on display directly outside and will make for great photos! **
