This hoof trimming clinic offers you the chance to learn about hooves and barefoot hoof care, including how to perform a maintenance trim on your own horse.
More and more horses are experiencing hoof problems, many of which could be avoided by following a more natural approach to hoof care. Know Hoof, Know Horse has never been more true.
Navicular, Laminitis and Insulin Resistance are on the increase but this clinic will teach you many ways to lower the risks (and lessen vet bills!) for your horse. Correct hoof form, based on Mother Nature's design, goes a long way towards this. Subtle differences in trim methods can help restore hooves to their original healthy state.
You will also learn the best methods of horse keeping that allow your horse to be healthier, happier and fitter.

- Hoof grooming lecture

- Hoof grooming practice (cadavers)
**** Day 2 LECTURE & CADAVER DAY

- Set-up trim demo
- Hoof pathologies and how to address them
- Trimming practice (cadavers)
**** Day 3 LECTURE & CADAVER DAY

- Laminitis/Founder
- Trimming practice (cadavers)
**** Day 4 TRIMMING DAY

- Assessing your horse, mapping, formulating a plan
- Trimming your horse's hooves
COST:
$400 = Day 1 only
$600 = Days 1-2
$800 = Days 1-3
$1000 = Days 1-4
Stalls are available for boarding your horse if you need. Please call our host Dawna at 902-314-8504.
Please bring your own food, snacks, beverages and lawn chair.
Bring any trimming tools you may already have - hoof knife, hoof stand, rasp, nippers, etc. If you don't have tools, we will have some for sale at the clinic or you can get them from our website here: https://www.hoofgeeks.ca/shop/trimming-tools.
