Tour of the Natural Areas: MST/SST Hike - 5.61 miles (10/11) https://www.strava.com/routes/3310298077280461046
The Standing Stone Trail Club is wrapping up the hiking season as we started it and that’s with a hike on the Mid State Trail as we make our way onto the Standing Stone Trail! This relatively short hike will cross two counties and three natural areas as we hike from Bear Meadows Natural Area, through Detweiler Run Natural Area, and finish in the Alan Seeger Natural Area. Of course, there will be much to see this time of the year as we walk amongst the trees with their fall foliage and follow the trail along Detweiler Run. Hikers should be sure to wear sturdy shoes, bring water (or a filter!), and some snacks. This hike is almost 6 miles and is a point-to-point route with a shuttle provided as you finish the adventure. Meet in the parking area for Bear Meadows Natural Area.
