Official Opening Ceremony of the 180th Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta

The spectacular Official Opening Ceremony of the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta is steeped in history and always takes place on the Bandstand, in the Royal Avenue Gardens.

This traditional event is the start of Regatta and everyone is welcome to come along as a spectator, enjoy the proceedings, and start getting into the Regatta spirit.

Following the Opening Ceremony, The Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines usually perform the Ceremonial Sunset and Beat the Retreat on the South Embankment.
