COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This eight-hour course addresses the Run. Hide. Fight. response paradigm and guides non-traditional first responders in the various ways these methods can be employed. Because active threat incidents can occur anywhere, participants are encouraged to apply principles from this course to plans and procedures in their workplaces. The course covers the basic principles of the response paradigm as it pertains to response in the event of an active threat incident.

PARTICIPANT CRITERIA: The primary target audience for the Direct Delivery version of this course includes: • Citizens or community volunteers • Education personnel • Emergency Management personnel • Governmental administrative personnel • Healthcare personnel

SPONSORSHIP:
This Course is sponsored by the Campbell County Office of Emergency Management and the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security. Delivered by the NCBRT at Louisiana State University. All training delivered by the NCBRT is certified by DHS and offered tuition-free to the nation’s emergency response community and associated stakeholders.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Course enrollment maximum is 45 participants.
2) There are no course fees.
3) Pre-registration is required by August 15, 2025.

As soon as you have completed registration, you will see a link “Begin Class Pre-Test”. Click on the link and complete the pre-test.

If you have trained with NCBRT before, enter your FEMA SID, Last Name, and First Name. If your training record is found, your registration form will be pre-filled for you. Otherwise, click Register as New Person to fill out a blank registration form. Bring a device to class that can access the online registration site, so you will complete your post-test and evaluation online. Your post-test will be graded immediately, and you will be able to review the answers. As soon as the post-test is passed and the class evaluation is completed, your Class Information page will update to include a link for your certificate. The certificate may be downloaded as a PDF to your device, or sent as a PDF to your email.
