John A. Rice is a NYC-based artist, writer, and actor known for his expressive oil pastel work and deeply intuitive creative process. He has twice served as artist-in-residence at Sacred Grounds Coffee Shop in Lily Dale Assembly — in April 2023 and again in June 2025 — and returns for the 2026 season. John's practice is rooted in trust and surrender: he works by following the visions he receives, allowing each piece to emerge without editing or second-guessing.
