Multicultural Pongal (Harvest) Festival 2020

Valluvar Foundation with Australian Tamil Academy presents the 2020 Harvest Festival! Supported by the City of Casey and the Victorian Multicultural Commission.

Valluvar Foundation is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation founded with the intention to serve the ethnic community by encouraging, preserving and facilitating education in their Mother Tongue, Culture (arts, dance & music) and Heritage. We can foster positive relationships with other cultures and people when we learn about our culture and heritage.

Harvest Festival (Pongal) is an important aspect of Tamil culture and tradition where we celebrate Nature (the land, the animals, water and people) and the Cycle of Life

Come along with the family, bring a picnic rug, sit and enjoy stage performances by community artists demonstrating their harvest traditions. There are activities for everyone:

- Lots of games Uri Adi (piñata), Lemon & spoon race, Running races, Sack race, Tug of War (kids, women, men), Kabadi (team of minimum six – email us with your team details), Giant Chess, Carnival games, Animal farm, Rides & more!
