Scoundrels, Scalawags, and Speakeasies: The Founders of St. Marys Tour
About this Event
On this walking tour, stroll St. Marys’ quaint streets named after its 18th-century founders and discover the escapades of these colorful men. You will never view the streets of St. Marys the same way again!
-Stroll St. Marys’ beautiful waterfront and learn why the founders were inspired to create a town at this bluff. Hint: It had to do with protection from a terrifying enemy!
-Take in peaceful Oak Grove Cemetery, which survives from the time of St. Marys’ founding.
-View stately historic buildings associated with the founders’ nefarious (and often illegal) deeds.
Afterwards, sip the same wine the founders would have enjoyed 200 years ago. The local speakeasy supplies it exclusively for our group!*
