Two or Three with Tinayeshe feat. Chelsea Locklear, Zane Vickery & Hollins Cuttino

Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

As I worked on promoting & releasing my album, this scripture has been foundational for establishing the vision for my shows. Similarly to the Gray Haven’s Caravan Tour, Andrew Peterson’s Behold the Lamb, and a classic writer’s round, I collaborate with other artists and songwriters to bring my show to life. However, in my vision, the other artists aren’t simply openers.

They are co-performers. It’s our show. We open & close the night together in song (usually more “congregational” in nature); and while there are obvious logistical benefits to this format—given my context as a newer artist—the heart of it all is communion. When I think of my favorite hobbies, activities, things—though I’m an introvert—all of those favorites have been best experienced with the people I love.

So, why not apply that to my concerts as well, in a more integrated & meaningful way than just inviting my friends to open for me? Why not lean into the mystery of Matthew 18:20 and see what happens when two or three artists come together; when two or three members of the audience enter the space, with me, carrying the spirit, in homes; backyards; churches; and other establishments?

This is a mystery worth my curiosity.
