About this Event

Whether you're a longtime musician or brand new, all are welcome. We sing from The Sacred Harp (1991 Denson Edition) — a truly American tunebook filled with bold, joyful, sometimes creepy songs passed down through generations of American singers.

We will start the afternoon with 30mins of introductory lessons/comments (known as "singing school"), great for beginners.

This is not a performance — it’s participatory singing for the joy of it, with parts sung a cappella, and with no leader. We take turns choosing and "conducting" together. No musical experience is necessary, and loaner books will be available. You’re welcome to come for the whole afternoon or just stop in and sing a while, or just sit on the couch and listen.

We usually have 10-15 singers & welcome all newcomers to lend their voices. We sing every first Saturday of the month.
